A Second Chance - Short Film Project 1 (NKF Singapore)
This project was my first time working in a film production. It was in this project that I first learned and applied the three act structure into the scriptwriting process. This was also my first time as the Production Designer, where I managed the set design, together with the wardrobe, hair, and makeup of the cast. It taught me that I could tell a story/an idea through visuals alone, and without the need to write it into dialogue.
*no BTS for this project..
Whispers Don’t Lie - Short Film Project 2
My second time working as a Production Designer. Really grateful for my experience in A Second Chance because this project was way tougher than the first! In this project, I learnt about screenwriting (and its difference from story writing) and including intentional dialogue and action. For example, the very last scene of this short film (a mental hospital scene) was intended to convey to the audience that this isn’t the first time this event has occurred. To show this message, I had Amber (the side character) cut off and finish Daniel’s (main character) sentence, showing that she has experienced this relapse many a time and knows exactly what he went through. This screenwriting experience taught me the importance of each line a character says in a film.
Whispers Don’t Lie - Short Film Project 2
This isn’t the official trailer for the short film. I created this trailer as part of an assignment from another module.
After much research on other movie trailers in the horror/thriller genre, I compiled relevant shots that would give the audience a hint of what the film would be about, but also not reveal the entire plot of the film.

King of Hawkers & Class 420
This was my first time being on a professional set, and also my first time working as a Production Assistant! It was tough at the start as, other than a few online tutorials I watched on being a PA, I was completely inexperienced. However, after the Production Manager briefed me on my duties and taught me throughout my first day, I got the hang of what I was to do.
I mainly learnt to crowd control and look after the welfare of the crew (providing refreshments, cleaning the set, and assisting anyone who requires help ie. looking for things)

Me as an extra for a short while!
The production area where we had to look after the welfare of ~20 extras
I got to try focus pulling for one shot!
Sound of Memories - Documentary Project (Honour Singapore)
This was my first time as an editor! In this documentary project, I realized the big differences between documentaries and films.
In the Pre-Production stage, our angle changed many times, all the way through to our Production stage, and I helped refine our interview questions many a time (I even did an interview once when our Director wasn’t around!). During Production, I acted as our PA, and also followed the camera operators around to ensure we had sufficient coverage for our documentary. Coming to the Post-Production period, it was an entirely new experience for me, and I learned that most of a documentary comes to life in the post stage. I tried, to my best ability, to replicate the references provided by my group mates and make changes to the video according to their various critiques. We ran through numerous drafts before settling on the final draft to be submitted to Honour Singapore.
Fish Child - Short Film (Mental Health Film Festival)
My most recent project as a PA! It was a short two day shoot with only two talents and a small crew. I also slated, art assisted, and learned to grip!
Advanced Directing Assignment
I created the lined script, blocking plan, shot list, and then shot the scene (15A) according to my own interpretation and vision for this assignment.
I planned these shots to try and add more movement and reduce the number of static shots. Using the different angles, I had hoped to convey the different emotions the characters were going through (eg. the high and low angles during the quarrel)
